Accessibility

Taskbound is for everyone who has things to do.

Updated November 2, 2026.

What we aim for

We want Taskbound, and this website, to work for people who use their iPhone in every way it can be used: by sight, by sound, by touch, with larger text, or with less motion. We design and check against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and Apple's own accessibility guidance for iPhone apps. Taskbound has not yet been audited by an outside reviewer, so we don't claim full conformance. This page says what works, what doesn't yet, and how to tell us.

In the app

  • VoiceOver. Buttons, task cards, lists, goals and the calendar are labeled, so VoiceOver reads what they are and what they do. Decorative pieces are hidden from it, and while a menu or sheet is open, VoiceOver reads that and not the page underneath.
  • Larger text. Taskbound's text follows the text size you set in Settings → Accessibility → Display & Text Size.
  • Reduce Motion. With Reduce Motion on, the springs, swells and slides are replaced with short, plain fades.
  • Light and dark. Taskbound follows your iPhone's appearance, and a list's text is chosen dark or light to stay readable on whatever color the list wears.
  • More than color. A finished task is crossed out as well as faded, and a late one says "late" in words, not just in color.
  • Sound and touch are extras. Every sound and buzz goes with something you can also see, and both can be switched off in Settings.
  • Siri and widgets. Tasks can be added by voice, and the Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets show what's next without opening the app.

On this website

  • Every picture has a text description for screen readers.
  • Pages are built with real headings, lists and links, so they can be read and moved through by keyboard and screen reader.
  • Movement on the home page calms down when your device asks for reduced motion.
  • Pages follow your light or dark setting.

What isn't right yet

  • At the very largest text sizes, some screens get crowded, and a few short labels shrink to fit their space.
  • Moving tasks, lists and goals is done by holding and dragging. VoiceOver users can still edit, finish and delete everything, but reordering by drag isn't available to them yet.
  • Voice Control and Switch Control haven't been tested from start to finish yet.

We're working through these. If one of them gets in your way, telling us moves it up the list.
